HVAC Google listing suspended? Here's the fix.

HVAC contractors share the plumber risk profile almost exactly: service-area businesses, home-based, seasonal demand — and Google's enforcement treats that combination with suspicion. Two patterns are especially HVAC-specific. Here's the breakdown.

Why HVAC listings get suspended

1. Service-area address flags

Same as plumbers: home address not hidden, or service areas misconfigured so Google reads a residential address as a fake storefront. Fix: real address, proper service-area settings, address hidden from public view.

2. Seasonal name changes

This one's distinctively HVAC: "Smith Heating & Air" becomes "Smith AC Repair — Summer Special" in June, then back again in October. Google reads name changes as instability or manipulation. Fix: keep the business name constant year-round — exactly matching your license. Market seasonal offers on your website, not in your Google business name.

3. Category and service stuffing

Listing every service as a separate category or stuffing the description with keywords ("AC repair, furnace installation, duct cleaning, thermostat..."). Fix: one primary category, honest services list, no keyword packing.

4. Shared or virtual addresses

Using a virtual office for "presence" in a neighboring city you serve. Google treats this as a fake location. Fix: one real base address; serve neighboring areas through service-area settings, not fake addresses.

What to do right now

  1. Run the free diagnosis — it checks the HVAC-specific patterns first.
  2. Lock your business name to the year-round legal version before anything else.
  3. Gather your evidence pack — branded vehicle photos, trade license, and insurance certificate.
  4. Write your appeal and submit once, cleanly.
